Selective Licensing Requirements
Ealing Council have now been in touch, and have supplied us with the full requirements for Selective Licensing of private residential properties in the five affected wards.
They have not supplied a link to their website, and it appears the document cannot be found online, but we can send copies to any interested parties on request.
The Council also have a dedicated PRS Licensing Team, who can be reached here - PRSlicensing@ealing.gov.uk
Enforcement
The Council have indicated that details about their enforcement policies and health and safety guidelines will be published on their website shortly.
In the meantime they've commented that:
"The authority shall be employing a common sense approach to enforcement, if an issue occurs that is not within the control of the licensee the authority would expect them to take action to resolve the issue, similarly if the authority brings to the attention of the licensee a problem as long as it is resolved there will be no issue.
Where action may be taken is where there is wilful negligence or failure to respond to concerns; or where the concerns are so serious that there is no other option but to prosecute."
